What makes potato starch strong?

Starch is a mixture of a linear (branched) and a branched (amylopectin) glucose polymer. Potato starch has a higher proportion of amylopectin than corn or wheat starch. Amylopectin gives starch its structural integrity, so that compostable waste bags from If You Care are stronger than bags made from corn starch.

Is there any other reason for potato starch?
