L-Lisina 500 mg 100 capsules

  • Lysine is an essential amino acid. This means that it cannot be produced by the human body itself and must therefore be ingested with food.

The amino acid is an important building block of various proteins. Enzymes, transport proteins in blood plasma, antibodies and hormones are just as much a part of this as structural proteins of bones, skin and tendons or the proteins actin and myosin, which are characteristic of the muscles.

Lysine is indispensable, among other things, for the stability of collagen and connective tissue, because lysine is present in these structural poreins in hydroxylated form, which means that it contains OH residues at special points. These, in turn, are cross-linked via sugar molecules, which creates the very stable glycoproteins that are characteristic of collagen.

But not only in collagen is lysine provided with additional functional groups after incorporation. Specific lysines are methylated within the proteins around which the genetic material is wrapped. These additional CH3 residues are responsible for ensuring that only the genes desired during this time are read and the required proteins are formed at every stage of development of the cell.

The body can also produce the vitamin-like L-carnitine from lysine in interaction with other substances. This in turn has a key function in energy metabolism and fat burning.

Lysine, which reaches the cells from the blood via the same transporter as arginine, can also inhibit the absorption of this amino acid into the cells (so-called antagonist). This enables the organism to convert the arginine that is freely present in the plasma very quickly into the messenger substance nitrogen monoxide if necessary.

In addition, lysine has a positive effect on the absorption of calcium in teeth and bones. A lysine-rich diet can therefore be beneficial for patients at risk of osteoporosis.

We also use lysine for the treatment of herpes viruses, because the amino acid accelerates the healing of the lip sores.

Lipoprotein-a transports water-insoluble substances in the blood, but - in too high a concentration - can stick to the vessel walls and thus lead to cardiovascular problems. Lysine counteracts this by preventing attachment to the artery walls and removing existing lipoprotein plaques. Lysine is an effective remedy for hardening of the arteries, which has been proven in various studies, for example in 1996 by the scientist Dr. Dr. Matthias Rath and Dr. Aleksandra Niedzwiecki.

Lysine is particularly common in animal foods, but soybeans and lentils also contain the amino acid in large quantities. Lysine malnutrition leads to infections, but can also lead to hair loss and growth disorders.
