  Biotona Bio Camu Camu + Acerola Raw is a blend of 100% organic Acerola and Camu Camu raw powder. The acerola, or West Indian cherry is highly prized for its content of vitamin C and other phytonutrients. Camu Camu is a yellow to lilac-red fruit that grows on up to 5 m high shrubby trees on the swampy shores of the Amazon in South America. The fruits have no centuries-old usage tradition like other superfruits. Due to their extremely sour taste, these cherry-like fruits, depending on the degree of ripeness, can contain up to 2% of vitamin C, less eaten so simply, but rather as an ingredient in desserts. The Biotona Camu Camu + Acerola comes from 100% organic acerola from Brazil and Camu Camu from Peru. The berries are processed directly after harvest and selection by freeze-drying to a powder that comes very close to the fresh berries in taste, smell and color. This drying process also ensures that the naturally occurring phytonutrients are optimally preserved.
