  The Golden tastes in the ripe state with comparatively little acid very sweet. In addition to a pronounced anise and cinnamon flavor, it shows a ripe fruit, slightly honey and pear-like aroma. The flesh of the Golden is very fine-celled and rather tender.

   

  The Golden is, so to speak, the flagship for orchards. This all-rounder among the apple varieties, produces a very good quality, especially in higher cultivation. Because of its balanced sugar-acid ratio, this apple is also very popular with children.
